It is the mission of the Middleton Place Foundation (MPF) to sustain the highest levels of preservation and interpretation for the Middleton Place National Historic Landmark. The mission is followed in all aspects of MPF activities, including presenting distinctive events like the Charleston Garden Festival (CGF).

The Charleston Garden Festival has provided participants an opportunity to learn new and creative ways to plant and approach gardening. Through lectures by internationally renowned garden experts, demonstrations and informative discussions, horticultural tours, creative exhibition gardens, and an eclectic mix of market vendors, the Festival has inspired, educated and entertained.

An endeavor such as this has involved much effort on the part of many. The success of the Charleston Garden Festival has been, and is, dependant on the generous support received from the local community, sponsors, exhibitors, and volunteers.Given current economic conditions, the Charleston Garden Festival has been indefinitely postponed. With an optomistic look to the future, Foundation leadership believes the economic climate will soon be in a better position to allow for the corporate sponsorships and additional support needed to present the type of garden festival the community has come to expect and deserve.

The Middleton Place Foundation appreciates the continued support of its friends and is looking forward to a rewarding future.  The CGF website at www.charlestongardenfestival.org will continue to provide up-to-date information.
